Kamuela Inn
65-1300 Kawaihae Rd, Kamuela, HI 96743, USWhy We Like It
Though it may look like a simple motel from the outside, the rooms have been renovated to give it a true boutique hotel feel with timeless charm. The staff and location also help to make this a comfortable stay for travelers.
Fodor's Expert Review
One of the only boutique hotels in the Waimea area, anyone looking for a charming, but more upscale paniolo (cowboy) country experience will find touches of luxury and plenty of comfort at these accommodations. Pillow top beds, spa quality linens, and a daily complimentary continental breakfast make this a wonderful location for those staying in the area for a spell, particularly for weddings and events, which the inn can also accommodate.
Tip The great location just begs for you to ditch your car for a day and walk around the Waimea area if the weather is good. Just keep in mind that Waimea is at a higher altitude, so keep a light sweater with you.

Room
The inn has 30 rooms with nine different types of room to meet the needs of a variety of travelers. Each room is clean and décor is bright and friendly, with pine ceilings, barn doors, and horseshoes in each room to emphasize the paniolo (cowboy) theme. Each room has artwork from the owners’ personal collection, spa quality sheets, and smart TVs.

The Executive Suite is the only room with a bathtub, the rest have showers with both rainfall and handheld shower heads. Ola body products can be found in dispensers in each shower – these wonderful bath products are made in nearby Hilo with natural, island scents. Once you fall in love with them (and you will), you can purchase your own in the lobby.
Lobby
The lobby is small, but quaint and nicely decorated with the paniolo theme. The old fashioned key box on the wall is especially charming.
You Should Know Those quaint inn keys cost a pretty penny to replace – it’s a $100 fee if you lose yours, so don’t lose it!
Dining
Breakfast is served in the dining room every morning and is included in your stay. When it’s not dining time, the room and its patio turn into a common room where guests can find tea and coffee.
