Why We Like It
Known for their personalized service, the Westin makes guests feel like friends of the family. Regulars are often greeted by name! We love how the heated pool feels like it's outdoor, but it's not. The Westin also gets points for its comfortable beds, sleek marble and glass showers, and the glamorous design accents. The new lobby decor is a winner, with curvy couches and metallic gold surfaces.

Basking in the success of their top-down renovation, the Westin is once again a modern way station near the airport, where travelers appreciate the bright, California-style lobby and stylish rooms. The pool is covered with a cathedral ceiling made of skylights. There is a 24-hour fitness room and a generous pet program that allows two dogs under 40 pounds each.
Tip The Westin offers a complimentary 24-hour, dedicated, Mercedes airport shuttle. It's often driven by Rob, the most helpful and friendly driver in town.

Room
Yes, that's a metallic gold headboard! And a matching accent chair! They "pop", as does the abstract art. Other room features include 48-inch flat-screen LCD smart TVs, wood flooring, sleek desks and the hotel's branded Heavenly bedding.
Tip If you need a room during the day, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Westin will rent you one for just $109. You get access to the gym and pool, of course. It's a great way to kill time during a long layover. Some rooms have views of the runways.
Bathroom
Thanks for the counter space! Go ahead and empty out your toiletry bag near the sink, or use the Westin's "White Tea Aloe" products: shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, bar soap, lotion. A shower cap, shoe mit, and tiny sewing kit were also provided.
Tip The over-sized rain shower head is treat!
Lobby
Don't let the glum, brown brick facade of the building sour you on this property. The interior was revitalized with California-style decor and it all starts in the lobby. Note the "green" wall, the gold starburst chandeliers and the gleaming white marble floor. There's a mini Starbucks kiosk tucked into the reception area, but it doesn't detract from the dazzling design effect from the modular couches, navy foot stools and metallic gold accents.
Pool
Canoodling in the pool, it feels like you're outside, but you're actually under a high peaked roof of skylights. Bright and airy, the floor-to-ceiling glass room is the perfect home for a heated pool. There are lots of padded lounging beds.
Tip It opens early, at 6 a.m., for morning swimmers.
Gym
The gym isn't big, but it's trying very hard. Pristine after the renovation, it's sexy and modern. There are four treadmills and four cycles with personal flat-screen TVs, plus medicine balls, a mirrored wall, mats, exercise balls and state-of-the-art weight machines. Ask about borrowing some New Balance shoes or shorts, if you forgot yours.
You Should Know The cardio machines face a wall, but at least the wall has an inspirational green mural.
Dining
For a quick coffee and a pastry on the go, there's a Starbucks kiosk in the lobby. Alternatively, the lobby restaurant, Atmosphere, opens its doors at 6:30 a.m. for a full breakfast. It closes at 11 a.m., then the food service shifts to the hotel's second restaurant, Crosswinds Bar and Grill. They specialize in small sharing plates (get the lamb skewers) and mains (hand-stuffed ravioli). The menu is small but well edited.
Tip Get breakfast until 3 p.m. on weekends via room service! Good thinking.
Drinking
The bar has comfy stools with high backs--all the better to brace yourself for the stiff artisanal cocktails. The mixed drinks are often infused with natural ingredients and fresh local flavours.

Self parking is available for up to $25 per day per 24-hour period. Valet parking is available for $35 per day. There are park and fly packages available.
Restaurants
The Keg is right across the road (3-minute walk), so that's a no-brainer for reliable steaks and hearty sides, while Bliss Restaurant and Bar (5-minute walk) inside the Hilton is also within stumbling distance. They feature pasta, grilled items, salads and sharing plates.
Bars
Honestly, stay put, and drink at the lobby bar, Crosswinds. But if you must leave the property, try Jack Astor's Bar and Grill (3-minute drive). They're proud of their enormous new fishbowl cocktails, served with lots of fruit, herbs and other curious garnishes.
