12 Best Nightlife in Main St. and Mt. Pleasant, Vancouver

Bar Susu

Fodor's choice

Tucked away just off Main Street on 6th Avenue, you'll find a cozy space known for its endless selection of natural wines—as well as sakes, cocktails, and more. Late-night bites include creative dishes like mussels escabeche tartine and duck liver parfait. And FYI, the wine bar and eatery won Gold for Best New Restaurant at Vancouver Magazine's 2022 Restaurant Awards.

R&B Ale & Pizza House

Fodor's choice

One of Vancouver's original microbreweries, R&B serves house-made beers with East Vancouver-inspired names (try the Stolen Bike Lager or Dude Chilling Pale Ale) alongside a delicious brewpub menu (they are well known for their pizzas). Grab a seat in the busy taproom or on the small outdoor patio. And while you nosh on pizza and beer, enjoy the music on the overhead speakers, and take in the baseball knickknacks and cool retro decor.

33 Acres Brewing Company

This bright tasting room attracts creatives and techies who work in this once industrial, now trendy neighborhood. A crowded layout of communal tables creates a very social feel, and potent house-brewed beers (with happy monikers like 33 Acres of Sunshine) are served up in charming Weck canning jars. The small selection of bready nibbles features local producers, plus there’s a rotating selection of food trucks on the doorstep.

Biltmore Cabaret

A favorite hangout for dance parties and live music, the Biltmore Cabaret hosts a mix of DJs, local bands, international performers, and stand-up comedy. It's a casual spot that comes with a half century of history as a public house.

Brassneck Brewery

Long, lean, and creatively wood-paneled, this is among a fresh crop of Mount Pleasant breweries leading East Vancouver's craft beer resurgence. The brewery operations dictate the layout, and the tasting room’s communal tables attract a dedicated after-work crowd for pints, flights, and growler fills.

Cascade Room

Evoking the vibe of a 1950s British cocktail bar, this busy nightspot attracts a loyal crowd with its signature blends, cocktails on tap (try the boozy slushy), and local microbrews. The upscale pub menu includes favorites like smoked game hen, chickpea burger, and sticky toffee pudding, along with charcuterie and a cheese plate.

Craft Beer Market

The stats at this massive beer hall in the historic Salt Building are impressive. It offers 100 draft beer taps, one of Canada's biggest selections of draft beers, and space for 450 kegs in the keg room (that's up to 26,000 liters or 6,900 gallons). The kitchen does a good job with generous portions of burgers, sandwiches, and other pub standards, while the patio on Olympic Village Square makes for great summertime people-watching.

Red Truck Beer Company

Designed to look like a truck stop, Red Truck Beer Company serves beer and pub fare like wings, burgers, chili, and fries. They also have an all-day breakfast menu that includes dishes like corned beef hash and southern fried eggs. There's always something fun happening here—from sports on the TV to live music (they have an outdoor summer concert series) to events like bike meetups or axe throwing.

The Lido

This small and retro-chic bar has been around for almost a decade and serves up beers, cocktails, live music, and good vibes. There's also a patio covered in lush greenery. Cash only.

The Whip Restaurant and Gallery

Mt. Pleasant
This lofty space with Douglas fir–beamed ceilings, exposed-brick walls, and rotating art exhibits attracts a hip, Main Street crowd. Try the organic beef burger, the kale Caesar, or the veggie poutine with mushroom gravy. Breakfast and brunch menus appeal to a morning-after crowd.

Upstairs at Campagnolo

Mt. Pleasant
In complement to the cozy Italian restaurant downstairs, this second-floor bar is a welcoming and romantic spot for cocktail lovers and carnivores. A selection of upscale bar meals include the devourable dirty burger, a 45-day dry-aged beef burger.
