Gran Hotel Havana
Gran Via Corts Catalanes 647, Barcelona, Catalonia 08010, SpainWhy We Like It
As stated above, the three things that make this hotel special are its cheap prices, amazing rooftop, and perfectly central location. The rooftop isn’t just big, but a great hangout spot with first-come-first-serve cabanas, live music, and pristine views. But really, this location at the price can’t be beat with large rooms and access to the entire city within minutes.
Fodor's Expert Review
Although the history of the building dates to 1872 and was once the residence of a wealthy Spanish family, today only the façade remains as the hotel’s modern interior and amenities attest to multiple renovations over time. The best reasons to stay at this hotel now are its expansive rooftop, inexpensive rooms, and its ideal location, just blocks from the city’s best shopping, restaurants, and attractions.

Green marble floors and countertops lend an elegant feel to the restrooms. Guests will find shower/bathtub combos in all rooms as well as bidets. Bath products are from Eco by Green Culture.
Lobby
A circular lobby features a bar and comfy leather chairs and tables that are ideal meeting or work spots. Look up as the oblong hotel ceiling reaches all the way to the 6th-floor skylights that bathe the hotel in natural light.
Pool
The year-round, blob-shaped pool is rather big in comparison to its hotel rooftop pool competitors. Surrounding the pool is ample deck space, green AstroTurf and plenty of chairs and tables for sunbathing and city-watching.
Spa
There’s no dedicated spa here, but there is a sauna next to the pool in case you need a deep sweat.
Dining
The hotel’s main restaurant is off the lobby on the ground floor and is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner serving a variety of Mediterranean classics. The rooftop also has a menu and is a much more ideal spot for late day bites and sips.
Drinking
Both the lobby and rooftop bars sling cocktails till about 1am. Drinks on the roof are best during Barcelona’s magical sunsets.
Tip If you book online, you’ll receive a free drink upon check-in.
