Car and Bus Travel

Driving around Western Australia is relatively easy, with mostly good paved roads and light traffic outside Perth. While the distances in the Outback are daunting (Perth to Broome is 2,230 km [1,386 miles]), Perth to the Margaret River in the South West is just over three hours along good roads. Always be aware of wildlife on the roadsides, particularly at dawn and dusk. Greyhound Australia and Integrity Coach Lines operate an extensive network of long-distance coaches. From Perth to Adelaide, expect to be on the road for 36 hours.
