There may be no city in Europe as gay-friendly as Madrid, the seat of 2017’s World Pride (and Europride) events that welcomed some 2 million revelers from around the globe. A chic cobblestoned district called Chueca is the city’s main “gayborhood,” but over the last decade, gay nightlife has become decentralized and more mixed; LGBT Madrileños no longer limit their partying to a particular area or venue type. When it comes to choosing a hotel to stay at, Chueca remains the obvious choice for gay travelers, but we see no reason to confine yourself.
