A venerable hotel on the tree-shaded Plaza de Armas, the LP (Los Portales) has charming colonial architecture paired with plenty of modern amenities. In the center of its small courtyard, you'll find a fountain and umbrella-shaded tables. Nearby, the pool has its own waterfall and palm-dotted island,and there's also a decent in-hotel café, restaurant, and bar. Rooms, in various sizes and styles, are spacious, though some bathrooms are small and dimly lighted.
