Fodor's Expert Review Yine Lodge
Boca Manu, Peru
Editor's Note: This location is reported to be under new ownership and therefore this review may contain inaccuracies.
This collection of thatched bungalows at the confluence of the Manu and Madre de Dios Rivers belongs to a nearby Yine indigenous community, but is managed by Pantiacolla Tours. The lodge is near the airstrip of Boca Manu, which is currently closed to charter flights. It is basically a place to rest on the trip from the Pantiacolla Lodge to the Sachavaca campsite, inside Manu's Reserved Zone. The bungalows are rustic, lit by candles at night, and toilets and cold-water showers are in a separate bath house.
PROS
- near Manu Reserved Zone
- private bathrooms
CONS
- less wildlife than other Manu lodges
