Fodor's Expert Review La Casa Amarilla

More a guesthouse than a hotel, this small, friendly lodging was set up by an Englishman enamored with the town's colonial wonders. Located on the bank of the Magdalena River, La Casa Amarilla offers lovely, spacious rooms that open onto a well-tended internal garden. Wooden furnishings are basic but comfortable, and the space is immaculate. This is also the best place in town to rent bikes, which is a lovely way to explore Mompox.
