This is a solid choice for the budget-conscious traveler looking to stay right in the heart of the historic center with all the sights and nightlife close at hand. The basic hotel retains plenty of colonial character from the bougainvillea-covered entrance to the cheerful yellow interior and balconies with wooden balustrades overlooking a small pool surrounded by exposed brick arches. Rooms are colorful and clean, although they could do with a touch of maintenance and upgraded towels, but they have basic showers, a/c, and cable TV. Avoid streetside rooms if you're a light sleeper.
