Super 8 Austin

The best thing going here is the location and inexpensive price. If you’re looking to visit Austin on a budget and don’t plan on spending a lot of time in your hotel room, this is a solid option.
Fodor's Expert Review
For no-frills, reasonably priced lodging close to downtown, you could do worse than this basic two-story brick motel located just east of the I–35 northbound access road. There's an outdoor pool and decent views of downtown from the second floor. Rooms were recently invigorated with clean, hardwood floors, but furniture remains outdated and beds fairly shabby, but for these prices it's hard to complain. An employee cautions to beware of \"party people,\" and ask for a quieter room, away from highway noise, especially during UT home games and citywide festivals like SXSW. Breakfast is free and nothing special with the exception of Texas-shaped waffles. Franklin’s Barbecue is a short walk away.
You Should Know The hotel offers free WiFi, breakfast and rollaways beds.

Getting Around
Located mere blocks from downtown means walking is an easy option. Otherwise, grabbing a pedicab, taxi or Uber will get you to where you want to go.
Restaurants
Named the best BBQ in America by Bon Appetit Magazine, Franklin Barbeque (2-minute walk) is a must for those visiting Austin. But make sure you get there early—the line is long and the food sells out fast. One of the only people allowed to skip the line was President Obama, so don’t even think of trying it. A unique take on Chinese fare, Old Thousand (6-minute walk) serves up brisket fried rice and Kung Pao cauliflower in a colorful and retro setting.
