East Side

Home to Brown University and the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), the East Side is Providence's intellectual center. It includes Benefit Street, dubbed the "mile of history" for its high concentration of Colonial architecture; RISD's top-quality art museum; and Thayer Street, a gentrified mix of shops, restaurants, and an art-house cinema.
