Fodor's Expert Review Stoudt's Brewing Company

$$$ Adamstown Dinner

Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.

Stoudt's Brewing Company is one of the pioneers of Pennsylvania's microbrewery scene, but this 50-year-old Victorian-style restaurant has stood twice as long. Founded by Carol Stoudt, the country's first female brewmaster, there are a selection of Stoudt's beers on tap, and the menu features Angus beef steaks and traditional favorites like schnitzel as well as an extensive menu of burgers and sandwiches; the bread and cheese plate features house-made goodies like artisanal bread and farmstead cheese that are also available at the adjacent Wonderful Good Market. The restaurant is also adjacent to Stoudt's Black Angus Antiques Mall. Microbrew, cheese, and antiques festivals are held at various times throughout the year.

A six-pack from the brewpub's coolers makes an excellent souvenir.
