Fodor's Expert Review Inn at Lambertville Station
11 Bridge St., Lambertville, New Jersey, 08530, USA
The "station" in this riverside hotel's name refers to the restaurant, an adorable 1867 stone building, but the hotel itself, tucked away from the street, is modern, with a comfortably traditional vibe. The lobby's soaring wood ceiling and wall of antique portraits set a timeless tone. Guest rooms have classic, mostly neutral furnishings, and the pricier ones have sitting areas and gas fireplaces. All but three have a river view because the inn is set at right angles to the Delaware. Do check out the station restaurant, designed by Thomas Ustick Walter, architect of the dome on the U.S. Capitol, as the headquarters of the Belvidere-Delaware Railroad. Complimentary continental breakfast is delivered to rooms.
