From early April through early November, a few cruise lines offer excursions focused specifically on the Pacific Northwest, usually along the Columbia River, leaving from Portland. Un-Cruise Adventures (formerly America Safari Cruises) offers seven-day excursions (some of them wine-themed) along the Columbia and Snake rivers, calling at Richland (with access to Walla Walla), Clarkston–Hells Canyon, The Dalles, Hood River, Bonneville Dam, Portland, and Astoria.

American Cruise Lines runs seven-day excursions from February through April along the Columbia and Snake rivers, departing either from Portland or Clarkston (WA), on a Victorian-style stern-wheeler, the Queen of the West.
