Manzanita is a secluded and gorgeously situated seaside community with only a few more than 500 full-time residents—but a growing following among weekenders from the Willamette Valley means there’s one of the highest number of vacation rentals along the northern Oregon Coast here. The village is on a sandy peninsula, peppered with tufts of grass, on the northwestern side of Nehalem Bay, a noted windsurfing destination. It’s a fairly laid-back town, but its growing crop of notable restaurants and boutiques has made it increasingly popular with visitors, as does its proximity to beautiful Oswald West State Park.
