Why We Like It

Budget conscious travelers will be drawn by the price, but this hotel offers more than just value. We love the rooftop lounge, the lobby with its market and bar, and the location near some of Brooklyn’s prettiest neighborhoods, including Boerum Hill.

Fodor's Expert Review

A funky boutique operation in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn, this hotel is a great value pick. Along with it being nicely priced, this property has a super bold design, a lively rooftop lounge (with live DJs!), a 24-hour fitness center, and a convenient little grab-and-go market right there in the lobby.

Room

Ranging from 285 to 551 square feet, rooms and suites are pretty minimal, and there are photographs of the Brooklyn Bridge on the walls (in case you forget what it looks like, despite it being very near the hotel). All rooms have work desks with ergonomic chairs, free coffee, and a mini-fridge. They're simple, but they work.

Tip The hotel provides extras for kids, including a kid-sized air mattress, fun bedding, and kid-friendly food like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Bathroom

Bathrooms have spacious vanities, powerful rain showers, and Bliss bath products. Again, it's simple, but it's good enough!

Lobby

The colorful lobby has generous lounge space with lots of pretty pillows for relaxing or getting work done. It's always bustling with guests coming and going from the mini-market, lounge, and bar.

Dining

The W XYZ Bar serves a snack menu in a loft-inspired space with a lounge and pool table. The Re:fuel mini-market has reasonably priced coffee and snacks.

You Should Know While there are several options on-site for snacks and drinks, this hotel lacks a traditional, full-service restaurant.

Drinking

The Kimoto Rooftop Bar and Lounge is a swanky rooftop bar with great views that serves Asian-inspired snacks and cocktails. They also frequently host live DJs up there, so it's a cool place to hang out.
