Fodor's Expert Review Marc Forgione

$$$ TriBeCa American

Editor's Note: This property is currently undergoing renovations.

Restaurant success runs in chef Marc Forgione's blood—his father was one of the New York food scene megastars with his 1980s restaurant, An American Place—but he more than holds his own at this neighborhood restaurant, which continues to attract crowds for its ambitious, creative, new American cuisine. The menu changes frequently, but whatever you order will be bold, flavorful, and inventive. Meat dishes are excellent and well prepared, but Forgione has a special way with seafood. Consider going for the tasting menu, perhaps with a wine pairing. Clad in exposed brick and natural wood, the dining room is softly lit with candles for a rustic, romantic vibe.
