Bay Shore

About 40 miles east of New York City, Bay Shore is close to Robert Moses State Park, and Fire Island is just a short ferry ride across the Great South Bay. An active waterfront attracts locals as well as out-of-towners to its boat launches, abundant dock space and restaurants. The Bay Shore Marina, host to big boat shows and fishing tournaments, is one of the largest publicly owned marinas on the East Coast. After a decline in the 1970’s, Bay Shore, one of the oldest hamlets on Long Island, has seen a resurgence since the 1980’s with new housing complementing its grand old homes, an ever-growing and thriving downtown, parks, historic sites, and a performing arts center.
