Cutchogue

Driving east through wine country, you’ll come across this quaint village with white, steepled churches and a small collection of old-fashioned shops. It's more than likely, however, that you will have set out specifically to find Cutchogue because it is blessed with some of the finest wineries on the North Fork, including the first ever Long Island winery—the Castello Di Borghese Vineyard and Winery. When you've done with the wineries, which could actually occupy you for days, you can head back here to stroll to an ice cream parlor, browse a handful of art and crafts boutiques, and eat blueberry pie at the landmark Cutchogue Diner. In summer and fall people flock to the antiques fairs, tag sales, and concerts on the village green.
