Why We Like It

Delano Las Vegas is that rare gem in a bustling city--a true vacation destination. It transports you to another time and place, and, while you have access to everything Las Vegas has to offer at your fingertips, it’s nice to know that you can opt out of the neon excitement for many evenings of refinement.

Fodor's Expert Review

South Beach meets desert Zen at this all-suite tower inside Mandalay Bay. Elaborate wet bars, giant 42-inch plasma TVs, plush carpeting, white rooms, and floor-to-ceiling windows make guest rooms oases in the Nevada desert; in the lobby, rocks and muted tones provide a back-to-nature feel. The property is connected to the rest of Mandalay Bay but also has its own check-in, swank coffee bar, see-and-be-seen lounge, and fantastic 24-hour restaurant. Guests of Delano enjoy full use of Mandalay Bay's sprawling pool complex and beach, as well as access to Bathhouse Spa and the gym therein. It's all unquestionably high end, but rates are surprisingly competitive with other leading hotels.

Room

All the suites exude comfortable luxury, done up in a neutral palette that feels timeless and sophisticated. Each room has a separate living room and bedroom, giving you a level of privacy and spaciousness.

Tip Delano distinguishes itself with its pet-friendly policy. Fido and can relax in style here with the Doggie Butler Service. There’s even doggie room service as well as pet-sitting and pet-walking options.

Bathroom

Delano’s bathrooms are so enormous you can literally hang out here even if you don’t have any bathroom business. There’s a flat-screen TV and Malin + Goetz products you can smell all day.

Lobby

Don’t miss Delano’s Art Series, exhibits in a variety of mediums that rotate quarterly. Meant to provoke discovery, thought and discussion, past installations include a collection of rare cocktail books and mannequins created by 10 local artists. The most recent is a piece titled Mojave Lights, which gave guests and opportunity to experience the Mojave desert as a three-dimensional living piece of art.

Pool

The ultra-luxe Delano Beach Club features signature cocktails, chaise lounges and a touch of whimsy—a submerged chess board.

Spa

The elegant Bathhouse Spa features 12 treatment rooms as well as steam rooms and saunas.

You Should Know Delano is one of a handful of properties on the Strip that doesn’t have gaming. The mandate here is relaxation, so sub in the excitement of the casino tables with the Bathhouse Spa instead, which offers a slew of facials, massages and other services.

Gym

There is complete workout facility at Bathhouse Spa.

Dining

Rivea by Alain Ducasse sets the bar pretty high—exactly 63 floors up.

The cuisine, inspired by food markets in Provence and Italy, evokes a Riviera holiday. Adjacent to Rivea is the can’t-miss Skyfall Lounge, which rocks a James Bond vibe. Once you come back down to earth, Della’s Kitchen serves up breakfast and lunch comfort food with fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

Drinking

Delano has perhaps the most sophisticated and beautiful lobby bar in all of the Strip. Franklin (Delano … get it?) Lounge has a tremendous mixology program (try the signature Delano Daquiri or the cleverly monikered Quite Frankly). The decor picks up on the rooms pleasing palette of dark blues, bronze, and touches of gold, with tiny lights on the ceiling twinkling to resemble fireflies. It’s the perfect spot for a date or an after-work libation.

What's Nearby

Getting Around

Delano is located on the south end of the Strip, and you should be able to reach Mandalay Bay, Four Seasons and even T-Mobile Arena on foot with little effort. But if you want to go to properties located in the middle of the Strip, it’s best to call an Uber or a cab.

Restaurants

Mandalay Bay has some of the best restaurants in the city, including Aureole (10-minute walk) and Libertine Social (10-minute walk).

Bars

Press in The Four Seasons (10-minute walk) is a great spot for a cocktail or two. For something a little different, check out the vodka vault at Red Square (10-minute walk) in Mandalay Bay.
