Overlooking the Missouri River just southwest of downtown and within easy walking distance of casual restaurants and watering holes, this clean, trendy property (formerly a LaQuinta) is a nice balance between bland franchise hotels and pricey upper-end lodging. Decor is decidedly Western, with a stone fireplace and exposed log beams.
PROS
- River's Edge Trail is outside the door
- well-kept grounds give the property a luxury resort feel
- off the main thoroughfares but close to downtown and the 10th Avenue South retail district
CONS
- can be difficult to find
- few restaurants within walking distance
- says it's pet-friendly but has a weight limit and cats are on a case-by-case basis
