The Corsair and Cross Rip Oceanfront Resort

41 Chase Ave., Dennis Port, Massachusetts 02639, USA

Why We Like It

With its oceanfront setting, reasonable prices, private beach, three pools and other amenities, this is a great family-friendly place to enjoy a Cape Cod vacation. The recreation room offers a respite if the weather doesn’t cooperate and its mid-Cape location means it doesn’t take long to drive to many charming towns. The variety of room types, from the small value rooms to whole house rentals, works for every type of traveler, especially those who are more interested in the beach and amenities, rather than luxury (though all the pillow-top beds found throughout are quite comfortable).

Fodor's Expert Review

This family-owned and operated property, located on three acres, is composed of seven buildings, ranging from two main motel buildings, four rental homes and a recreation building. Many of the rooms feature captivating beach views. Décor is clean, crisp and basic, but between the oceanfront location, the large private beach and the extensive facilities, you probably won't be spending much time in your room. This is an ideal property for families, especially in the larger rooms, which have kitchenettes.

You Should Know When the hotel says the “value” rooms are small, believe them. These rooms are good for singles or couples who plan on using the room to sleep and enjoy the area.

Room

Rooms in the main motel buildings range from smaller \"value\" units with one queen-size bed to pricier deluxe accommodations with kitchenettes and sitting areas, plus a few spacious condo-style suites. Four large three- and four-bedroom vacation houses are also available for rent; they can sleep up to 12 and are fully equipped with luxurious amenities. All rooms have plush pillowtop beds. There is also a townhouse for rent 3.5 miles away on the Bass River.

Tip If an ocean view is important, book a superior ocean front room on the second floor in the Cross Rip.
