Why We Like It

If you're looking to avoid having to drive into Boston proper, Coolidge Corner is a peaceful and extremely safe enclave.

Fodor's Expert Review

If you don't mind the anonymity and predictability of a chain hotel—and don't mind staying outside of Boston proper—this is a decent choice. Five colleges sit less than 5 miles from the Courtyard by Marriott, making it popular with visiting families. The T is right outside the door, as are ample neighborhood restaurants. (An on-site eatery is open for breakfast and dinner.)

Tip If you’re 62 years or older, you can save 15% on your room rate.

What's Nearby

Getting Around

The Coolidge Corner and Summit Ave. stops on the MBTA Green Line are of equal distance from the hotel, allowing guests the opportunity to hop on and head into the city very easily.

Restaurants

The Coolidge Corner area has plenty of great, reasonably-priced restaurants. Anna's Taqueria (4-minute walk) is a beloved Boston mini-chain of burrito joints right around the corner. Zaftigs Delicatessen (5-minute walk) is a Jewish Deli-style restaurant serving up everything from bagels and lox to delicious desserts. If you want to find authentic ethnic food of almost every variety, stroll into the Allston neighborhood, which is about a 25-minute walk from the hotel.

Bars

The neighborhood definitely quiets down after dark, as it's much more family-friendly than nightlife oriented. However, there are a few great bars in the area, like the Coolidge Corner Clubhouse (4-minute walk), which has great bar food, and Hops N Scotch (x-minute walk) which has over 40 beers on top and over a hundred varieties of whiskey, scotch, and bourbon.
