Why We Like It

In addition to a beautiful Victorian history, you can occasionally find discounts on the Bertram's website and social media.

Fodor's Expert Review

Quiet and old-fashioned is the m.o. at this antiques-laden inn, which is in walking distance from Cleveland Circle. The Bertram was built in 1907 as a wedding present for a wealthy merchant's daughter. The building's extensive renovation reflects its original Victorian style, from the wood paneling and marble fireplace to the antique furniture and fixtures about the house.

Tip There is no elevator, so be comfortable with stairs.

Room

The Bertram features classic Bed and Breakfast style, with each room uniquely different. Room 3, which used to be the original formal dining room of the house, is absolutely stunning. It boasts a four-poster bed, Oriental rug, cherry paneling, and working fireplace.

Bathroom

Not all bathrooms have tubs. Also, some of the rooms have detached bathrooms that require going outside the room.

Lobby

The beautiful lobby is exactly what you'd expect of a Victorian-era Bed and Breakfast. A relaxing living room area is great for socializing with other guests, or simply curling up with a book.

Dining

There's a delightful breakfast buffet with fruit and pastries every morning.
