Breakout culinary star Curtis Duffy (veteran of Avenues and Alinea) makes a home for his inventive white-tablecloth cuisine at this West Loop stunner. Duffy artfully plates delicate, hyper-seasonal dishes on two tasting menus—flora and fauna themed—for $205 each. For a fine-dining institution, the menu is refreshingly vegetable heavy in dishes like winter squash with enoki mushrooms, pearl onions, and orange hyssop. If you can spare the extra cash, opt for the wine pairings—though the nonalcoholic pairings are just as exceptional.
