Omni Hotel at CNN Center

100 CNN Center, Atlanta, Georgia, 30303, United States, Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Why We Like It

The location in the heart of downtown Atlanta is great for any reason for a trip to A-Town. Tourist attractions and restaurants are within walking distance and there are multiple options for public transportation nearby. While there are ways to relax indoors thanks to the onsite Serenity Spa, if you're looking for a hotel that's peaceful and serene, this isn't it. The hotel is often bustling which is fine for some travelers but may not be everyone's cup of tea.

Fodor's Expert Review

An ultramodern marble lobby overlooks Centennial Olympic Park through floor-to-ceiling windows in this sleek two-tower hotel next to CNN's headquarters. Creams, browns, and rich red accents decorate the rooms and complement the mahogany furniture. The hotel is at MARTA's CNN Center station.

Room

1,059 spacious guest rooms overlook either CNN Center Atrium or Centennial Olympic Park and feature triple sheeting on beds with extra blankets and pillows, work stations and evening turndown service upon request. Wi-Fi is only free if you join the Select Guest loyalty program.

You Should Know The South Tower of the hotel is significantly older than the North Tower and could use an upgrade. When making a reservation, request a room in the North Tower for a more comfortable stay. Note: more amenities like the main lobby and bars and restaurants are located in the South Tower, a bit of a hike from the North Tower.

Bathroom

Bathrooms have marble floors and granite countertops, plush bathrobes and Omni-branded toiletries including chamomile shampoo, aloe and honey conditioner and ginseng body lotion.

Lobby

The South Tower lobby is a welcoming place to relax thanks to comfortable high-backed lounge chairs, multiple flat-screen TVs embedded in the far wall and occasional live grand piano music. All of that said, the hotel has had issues in the past with panhandlers approaching guests in the lobby.

Tip The elevators in both the North and South towers are quite slow so give yourself a 10-minute cushion to get to where you need to be on time. Especially since it's a good idea to book a room on a higher floor to avoid the noise from the often busy CNN Center atrium.

Pool

The sun deck, small outdoor heated pool and hot tub are available year-round to all guests. Both are located on the 6th floor in the North Tower and are open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Gym

The 24-hour fitness center has everything you need to keep up with your regiment, including a bench press, exercise bikes, free weights, Stairmaster and treadmills. If you prefer to workout in your room, the hotel offers complimentary in-room fitness kits at the front desk.

Dining

Latitudes Bistro & Lounge is a casual dining option for drinks, small bites and shared plates like black-eyed pea hummus and smoked barbecue ribs. Prime Meridian is your onsite spot for all three daily meals, with elegant dinner dishes like diver scallops with chanterelles, roasted root vegetables, and fingerling potatoes, or buttermilk fried quail with Vidalia onion chow and marrow whipped root vegetables. Morsel's coffee shop is great for Peet's Coffee and Tea and breakfast on the go.

Drinking

Latitudes Bistro & Lounge offers the most extensive bar menu with shaken martinis, barrel-aged cocktails, classic 19th-century favorites like Moscow Mules and Champagne Cobblers, margaritas, regionally-inspired cocktails, bee, and wine.

What's Nearby

Getting Around

The CNN Center MARTA stop is just a 6-minute walk from the hotel, and there's easy access to the Atlanta Streetcar, which has 12 stops that connect Centennial Olympic Park with the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site. Major attractions like Centennial Olympic Park, Philips Arena, CNN studio and Mercedes Benz stadium are all within walking distance. Only deal with a car if you must because valet parking is the only option at the Omni and comes with a hefty $45 per night price tag.

Restaurants

You'll find mostly chain restaurants in this tourist-heavy part of town but they're pretty reliable. It's a one-minute walk to McCormick & Schmick's for steaks and fresh seafood, or enjoy an 8-minute stroll to Der Biergarten for traditional German eats and a beautiful outdoor patio and beer garden.

Bars

Park Bar has an extensive selection of bourbons from across the country, as well as a large menu of craft beers (3-min walk). Thrive is a sleek space for happy hour cocktails, wine, and beer alongside discounted sushi rolls, tacos, and sliders (5-min walk).
