Why We Like It

If you are looking for an affordable place to crash while visiting Walt Disney World, this newly renovated, few-frills venue is perfect.

Fodor's Expert Review

Less than a mile from the Disney Springs entrance to WDW, and within walking distance of a variety of restaurants and shops, this hotel, renovated in 2017, has in-room amenities and a price that make it a good bet for families on a budget. The muted autumn shades of the lobby contrast with the tropicals in the guest rooms, which feature white duvet bedcovers and sparkling white bathrooms. Guests with children can book a family suite with a refrigerator, microwave, and partitioned kids' area with two TVs (one for video games) and bunk beds. A small pool, theater and game room with free interactive games, a small fitness center, food court, market shop, and free breakfast buffet round out the deal.

You Should Know While shuttles deliver guests to and from EPCOT several times a day, they can be crowded. Also, be sure to ask the driver where he will be picking you up, as the bus-pickup zone has many stops.

Room

Rooms have a very modern vibe, with geometric patterns on carpets and bed coverlets, and color combinations that give a retro 1960s sensibility. The beds, either two queens or a king, feature Marriott Revive bedding, and the family suites have bunk beds. Amenities include PlayStation 3 gaming systems for the kids or the kid in you, a work area with ergonomic chair, Wi-Fi, coffee/tea, a mini-fridge and microwave, and on-site laundry facilities.

You Should Know This close to Disney, you know there will be lots of families, and families mean noise. If you are there with your family, join the fun. If you are a single person or a couple, to whom noise brings distraction, consider earplugs.

Bathroom

The black and white bathroom with green highlights continues the retro vibe, with a black vanity and tub/shower combo.

Lobby

Dark wood, bold colors, and spare, modern furniture greet you as you enter the lobby area, which has free coffee and tea available 24 hours a day, and a grab-n-go market for quick drinks and snacks. Entertainment options include a theater room and a kids’ game room, both decorated in orange and white patterned wallpaper which continues the 1960s vibe.

Pool

The modestly-sized pool has ample lounge chairs and a few umbrellas.

Gym

The fitness center is in a small room with natural light, featuring treadmills, stationary bikes and free weights.

Dining

The only on-site restaurant option is the breakfast room off the lobby, which features a buffet area with seating, and a free hot breakfast every day. The lodging is close to many dining options and many restaurants in the area will deliver to the hotel.

Tip As this hotel is popular with families going to Disney parks, the breakfast buffet tends to be busy right before park opening time, which is around 9 a.m. For the quickest lines, arrive at the buffet at the crack of dawn when it first opens, or wait til after the crowds leave.

Drinking

No bar on-site.

What's Nearby

Getting Around

Disney provides complimentary shuttle service several times daily to and from EPCOT, where you can hop the monorail or other Disney buses to other parks. If Disney Springs is your destination, a ride-share or taxi would be a better bet, as it's less than a mile away. The hotel offers free parking, so a car is also a great option, if Universal or SeaWorld is in your plans.

Restaurants

The immediate neighborhood contains several chain eateries: a perennial favorite, Steak 'n Shake, (2-minute walk) serves up the best burgers and milkshakes in the country; Pizza Hut (2-minute walk), Chili's Grill & Bar or Romano's Macaroni Grill (5-minute walk). If you are looking for a bit more pizazz, hop over to Disney Springs (5-minute drive) where parking is free and restaurant choices range from upscale to burgers: the three-story PaddleFish, a modern-day paddleboat, serves seafood along with striking views of the lagoon and the entertainment at the Springs; Nearby Raglan Road features refined Irish fare and lots of music and dancing; Morimoto’s Asia, an Asian Fusion eatery owned by, and often visited by, famed Japanese chef, Morimoto; and Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ restaurant, showcasing local, Southern food.

Bars

Within walking distance you'll find El Patron Restaurante Mexicano (2-minute walk), where happy hour drinks include $4 Margaritas. Romano's Macaroni Grill (5-minute walk) across a main highway, offers $4 beers and $5 wine for happy hour. Or, if you want a little more excitement with your libation, head to Disney Springs (5-minute drive) where you'll find dozens of places to lift a glass. The rooftop bar at Morimoto's Asia offers high-end sake; Raglan Road's Irish pub pours a mean Guinness; wine connoisseurs can head to Wine Bar George, where a master sommelier dispenses a wide range of domestic and imported wines; and House of Blues is the spot for beer.
