Redding

A handy gateway to Lassen Volcanic National Park, Redding, population about 95,000, sits along the busy I–5 corridor, with attractions that include the photogenic Sundial Bridge in Turtle Bay Exploration Park. The city makes a good base for visiting Shasta Lake and Lake Shasta Caverns to the north. It's also a good stopover if you're traveling between Lassen and Redwood National and State Parks on the coast.
