Chico

Its name is Spanish for "small," but with a 40% increase in population between censuses, Chico outpaced Redding as the Far North's largest city. Chico State University, the scores of local artisans, and area agriculture all influence life here, but the Sacramento Valley city's main claim to fame—and the premier tourist attraction—is the nationally renowned Sierra Nevada Brewery.
