Fodor's Expert Review Stinson Beach Motel
3416 Shoreline Hwy., Stinson Beach, California, 94970, USA
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
Built in the 1930s, this motel is surrounded by flowering greenery, and rooms are clean, simple, and summery. The motel is on the main drag, so it's convenient to everything in town, but things can get noisy on busy summer weekend days. Though all rooms face a central courtyard, and not the street, Room 3 has the most privacy. Weekday room rates are a bargain for the North Coast, though most of what you're paying for is the location.
PROS
- minutes from the beach
- cozy, unpretentious rooms
- kitchenettes in cottages
CONS
- smaller rooms are cramped
