Bicycling
Biking is prohibited on trails and can be a bit nerve-racking on Lassen Park Highway because of the lack of shoulders and guardrails, and due to—on the southern half of Lassen Park Highway—some steep grades. Only experienced cyclists should attempt this drive. The gravel roads to Warner Valley and both Butte and Juniper lakes are open to cyclists and receive far less auto traffic than Lassen Park Highway. For casual cyclists, the area around Lake Almanor in Chester is quite appealing.
