These charming clapboard cottages sit clustered beneath tall pine trees across the road from Lake Tahoe and a little beach. Cozy, simple, and well cared for, they offer an inexpensive alternative to a motel. Most have patios, and some have fireplaces and kitchens (there are also two houses). If Rustic is booked when you want to visit, ask about the well-run sister property, Tahoe Vista Lodge and Cabins, just up the road. The service at both is attentive.
