Boat Tours

Paul's Boat Lines Limited offers up to seven 75-minute cruises daily on the Rideau Canal (C$16) and four 90-minute cruises daily on the Ottawa River (C$18) from early May to mid-October. Canal boats dock across from the National Arts Centre; river cruise boats dock at the Bytown Museum at the foot of the Ottawa Locks on the Rideau Canal and at the Hull Marina on the Québec side of the river adjacent to the Museum of Civilization.

Bus Tours

From April through November, Gray Line has a regular schedule of two-hour tours in double-decker buses and open-air trolleys to Ottawa's major sights. The three-hour Fall Foliage tour, offered mid-September to early October, includes a stop for tea at the Mackenzie King Estate in Gatineau Park.

Walking Tours

See the last working gallows in Canada or hear about Ottawa's darker side while dropping into various pubs (C$12.50). Haunted Walks offers a choice of six walking tours; some are given year-round. From early May to late October, you can buy tickets at either their booth in the Byward Market building (73 Clarence Street), or on the corner of Sparks and Elgin streets.
