Fodor's Expert Review Casa Cenote Hotel
Interior Fracc. Tankah, Tulum, Quintana Roo, 77750, Mexico
Editor's Note: This property is currently undergoing renovations.
Across from the cenote for which it's named, this peaceful property offers multiple lodging choices. Casitas are actually standard rooms housed in four separate buildings that share a communal pool; elegant new suites have a loft and kitchenette; and the villa (available by the week) has five bedrooms and three baths. Budget-conscious bungalows have beds draped in mosquito netting, a central palapa kitchen, and eco-bathrooms. Despite its idyllic setting, most people drop by for the open-air restaurant, which serves fish tacos, fresh guacamole, and ice-cold margaritas. If you feel the ground shaking, it's probably water flowing from the cenote into the ocean at 400,000 liters per hour.
