Fodor's Expert Review Posada La Poza

Camino a La Poza 282, Todos Santos, Baja California Sur, 23305, Mexico

West of town, overlooking a bird-filled lagoon that gives way to the Pacific, this is one of the few Todos Santos properties right on the water. The Swiss owners have taken great care to create a property that showcases the local flora, and the results are spectacular, with more than 30 types of palm trees, 50 kinds of cactus, and 100 species of birds. The handsome, spacious suites have terra-cotta–color walls, modern furniture, sumptuous Swiss linens, and artwork painted or curated by co-owner Libusche Wiesendanger (who also tends the remarkable garden). You'll find binoculars on hand, but there aren't any TVs or phones in the rooms. The excellent El Gusto! restaurant is a bonus for hotel guests. The minimum stay is two nights.
