A U.S. hotel chain may not leap to mind when looking for a place to stay in such a historic locale, but this Holiday Inn in an 18th-century hacienda that has served as a hotel for over a century has captured that San Cristóbal feel and combined it with reliable chain amenities. A mix of large and small rooms line rambling hallways and staircases (it’s a bit easy to get lost finding your way back to your room) while a central courtyard adds to the Colonial charm. Ask to see a couple of rooms since they are markedly different in layout although not so different in price.
