A small, scruffy fishing village just 1 km (½ mile) north of Playa Conchal, Brasilito has a jumble of houses huddled around its main square, which doubles as the soccer field. It's cluttered, noisy, and totally tico—a lively contrast to the controlled sophistication of the gated Playa Conchal resort and residential development less than a mile south. Fishing boats moor just off a wide beach, and there’s a range of seafood restaurants, from inexpensive marisquerías to a few notable establishments taking pride in organic and locally sourced ingredients.
