Fodor's Expert Review Grand Hôtel

At first glance the Grand seems like any other world-class international hotel, and in many ways it is: its location is one of the best in the city, on the quayside just across the water from the Royal Palace, and service is slick and professional. The large rooms are sumptuous, with robes so fluffy, beds so soft, and antiques so lovely you may never want to leave. But the Grand offers something else, too: a touch of the uniquely Scandinavian. You can feel it in the relaxed atmosphere that pervades the hotel, you can smell it in the fresh, salt-tinged air that wafts through the open windows, and you can see it in the light that penetrates all corners of the hotel.
