The NH Collection Madrid Eurobuilding may be removed from the tourist track, but we keep returning for its incomparable bells and whistles like the well-equipped fitness center, envelope-pushing restaurants, divine breakfasts, and (generally) amicable guest services. For business travelers and fútbol fans, look no further—you've found your home away from home in the Spanish capital.

A few miles north of the city center in the financial district of Chamartín, the towering NH Collection Madrid Eurobuilding is a state-of-the-art luxury property with large, airy rooms, and an enormous pool and gym complex. The property also houses DiverXO (operated independently), arguably the best restaurant in Madrid with three Michelin stars. Though staff and housekeeping could be friendlier and more attuned to guests’ needs, overall this hotel is a dependable bet, especially for Real Madrid fans, who will appreciate being blocks from the team’s home stadium.
Tip Business travelers should note that the hotel houses one of Europe’s premier convention centers, known for its multimedia vault screen (the largest in Europe) capable of projecting 3D images.

Room
Airy and distinctively modern rooms boast electric blinds, under-bed lights, and De’Longhi espresso machines. All are pet-friendly. The VIP rooms—which have terraces and 180-degree views—are relatively well-priced, considering private breakfasts and a complimentary snack bar are included in the rate. Though you can connect your laptop or tablet to the large flat-screen TVs via an HDMI port, oddly the hotel does not lend out cables.
You Should Know We learned the hard way that housekeeping will attempt to enter your room as early as 8 a.m. if you don’t hang a “do not disturb” sign.
Bathroom
You’ll want plenty of “me time” in the rain-effect shower, whose pulsing stream offers a light shoulder massage with the push of a button. Complimentary toiletries are more varied than usual with two types of lotion (hand and body) and leave-in conditioner. Our only bone to pick is with the lighting, since there are no dimmers.
Lobby
The neverending lobby feels like an upmarket shopping mall with its ceiling animations, curvy banquettes, marble floors, and swanky offshoots ideal for cocktailing.
Pool
One of the most impressive pools in Madrid, designed for leisure as opposed to sport, this facility boasts whirlpools, fountains, and a hot tub.
You Should Know The pool is managed externally, which means simple requests for robes and slippers (provided by the hotel but not by the pool) are met with eye-rolls and unfriendly shrugs by fitness-center receptionists.
Spa
Pamper yourself with individualized massage and beauty treatments, or do some DIY relaxation in the ice cabins and saunas located adjacent to the pool.
Gym
The ritzy fitness center, which features three paddle courts and 55 cardio and weight machines, is a boon for those looking to stay fit while on vacation.
Dining
Though NH Collection Eurobuilding Madrid houses a sushi restaurant, tapas bar, and cocktail lounge, its most notable tenant is DiverXO, Madrid’s only restaurant with three Michelin stars. Its experimental dishes, which often forego traditional plates in favor of logic-defying, full-table presentations, lure food connoisseurs from around the world.
You Should Know DiverXO books up months in advance, and the hotel, despite housing the acclaimed restaurant, is unable to call in any special favors.
Drinking
Mixologist Diego Cabrera makes unconventional yet delicious cocktails in DOMO Lounge & Terrace, an indoor-outdoor space that would be far more romantic if the lighting weren’t so harsh.

Getting Around
Though there’s a metro stop close to the hotel (Cuzco, Line 10), the hotel is so far removed from the city center that taxis are the most comfortable way to get around.
Restaurants
Venture outside the neighborhood for most of your meals—the hotel is surrounded by mediocre chain restaurants that cater to the business-convention crowd. Cabbing to the nearby Salamanca district (10 minutes) is a good idea; there, you can have a sit-down meal that oozes old-school Spanish elegance at El Paraguas, or, alternatively, embark on a tapas crawl, hitting Los Gallos (cocktails and finger food), Cinco Jotas (premium jamón ibérico), and Ultramarinos Quintín (rawbar and flatbreads).
Bars
Forget the quiet streets surrounding the hotel and head down to Barrio Salamanca for an array of exciting nightlife venues. There’s Ten con Ten (9-minute taxi), the swanky “gin bar” that incited the gin tónic frenzy a decade ago that hasn’t abated since. After a cocktail there, make your way to Arts Club (7-minute taxi), a buzzy bar and discoteca that heats up on the weekends with international DJ sets.
