This restaurant has plenty of history: its two main dining rooms are whitewashed storage rooms that once served as potato cellars. The surroundings date back to the Middle Ages, but the food's as upscale and modern-feeling as could be, using traditional German recipes and giving them a modern twist---think mussels in a light cream sauce or pork knuckles with sauerkraut.
