La Villeggiatura
Calle dei Botteri, San Polo 1569, Venice, Veneto, 30125, Italy, Venice, ItalyWhy We Like It
While it doesn’t have the glamor of more luxe Venetian places to stay, we’re taken with La Villeggiatura’s small size, helpful staff, easy location, and relaxed vibe.
Fodor's Expert Review
With personalized service, contemporary rooms with lots of charm, and an ultra-central location near the Rialto but away from all the noise, B&B La Villeggiatura makes for an extremely pleasant place to stay. Owner Barbara will greet you with a smile and suggest the best places for you to eat, drink, and be merry in her beloved town.
You Should Know The B&B is on the third floor of a palace, and there’s no elevator—meaning you’ll have to climb stairs every time you come and go.

Room
Spacious, contemporary guest rooms have king-sized beds, light-colored walls, beamed ceilings, and parquet or terrazzo floors. Each of the six rooms (one junior suite, two loft suites, and three bedrooms) is named after a famous cultural aspect of Venice, whether musical or artistic, and has an original modern fresco painted on the wall, adding to the charm.
Tip The Vivaldi and Mondo Nuova rooms have “sky windows” that let in more light but have shades that can be lowered if you wish.
Bathroom
Modern tiled bathrooms contain showers or tub/shower combos.
Lobby
The petite lobby has pretty terrazzo floors and beamed ceilings, with a small sitting area just off of it.
Dining
La Villeggiatura doesn’t have its own restaurant, but an included continental morning meal is served in the dedicated breakfast room.

Getting Around
Located in the San Polo neighborhood, it’s quiet right around the B&B, but the Rialto Bridge is just a short walk away if you’re after more action (and crowds). Plus the Rialto Mercato ferry stop is just a 3-minute walk, from where a boat will take you all around the Grand Canal.
Restaurants
Book in advance for the renowned Antiche Carampane (2-minute walk), which serves up some of Venice’s finest seafood. For a lively atmosphere near the Rialto Bridge, dishes using fresh market ingredients, and a fabulous canal-front terrace, Osteria Bancogiro (3-minute walk) can’t be beat, or partake in elegant modern Venetian cuisine at one Michelin star Osteria Da Fiore (4-minute walk).
