One of the most important collections of paintings in the Black Forest region hangs in this gallery. Look for masterpieces by Grünewald, Holbein, Rembrandt, and Monet, and also for work by the Black Forest painter Hans Thoma. The Kunsthalle Orangerie next door houses work by such modern artists as Braque and Beckmann. The gallery is closed for major renovations until 2027.
