Cheverny

Though not always included on the list of the upper-echelon Loire Valley superstars, the Château de Cheverny is a rare and beautiful example of early-17th-century classical architecture. Made from the pristine white stone of the nearby Cher Valley, its creamy color and graceful symmetry are utterly unique. The château's spectacular interiors, loaded with exceptional artworks and furnishings, is one of the most intact in the Loire, and its meticulously manicured park and gardens are a charming place to wander in any season.
