Belle-Ile-en-Mer

Covering 84 square km (32 square miles), Belle-Ile is the largest of Brittany's islands; and, as its name implies, it is beautiful. Being less commercialized than its mainland counterpart, Quiberon (a spa town with pearl-like beaches on the eastern side of the Quiberon Peninsula), Belle-Ile maintains a natural appeal. Monet created several famous paintings on the island, and the pristine terrain may tempt you to set up an easel yourself.
