Bus Travel

Bus service is all but nonexistent outside of metro San Juan and should not be considered a viable form of transportation for visitors, as service, when it exists at all, is unreliable. You'll have to depend on públicos (passenger vans) that make many stops. These vans usually stop near a town's main square.
