There are no residency requirements. Blood tests are not mandatory. Original birth certificates and passports are required. Divorce certificates and proof that the bride and groom are single must be stamped by the Dominican Consulate. Documents must be submitted two weeks before the wedding and translated into Spanish. Many couples are opting to marry in the United States, then hold a ceremony at the resort of their choice followed by a reception.
