When to Go

Peak Season: June to August

The islands' winter is the driest time of the year, when daytime temperatures hover around a pleasant 77°F and humidity is at bay. Expect high airline and hotel prices, though just a day or two on either end of the season can make a significant difference in cost.

Off Season: December to March

This isn't really off season per se—The Cook Islands are postcard perfect year-round —but it is the rainy season, and hurricanes have hit the islands in the past. Rainstorms come in short, heavy bursts, so they won't put a damper on your day. However, because the islands are popular Christmas and New Year's destinations, expect airline hotel prices around these times to be higher than average.

Shoulder Season: April to May, September to October

Warm, sunny days, comfortable nights, and reduced humidity make these four months the ideal time to visit the islands, especially for those who wish to spend all day, every day in the water.
