Though this resort is slightly inland, the beach is a short walk away and the lack of a beachfront brings the rates down considerably (though this also makes it very popular). A hodgepodge of Thai, Khmer, and Chinese architecture and design flourishes are everywhere, even in the sprawling pool and surrounding patios. And yes, lots of orchids are sprinkled around the main lobby. Some rooms have direct pool access. If you want a no-smoking room, be sure to ask when booking.
