Fodor's Expert Review ANA InterContinental Tokyo

1–12–33 Akasaka, Tokyo, Tokyo-to, 107-0052, Japan

With a central location and modest pricing, the ANA is a great choice for the business traveler, and its ziggurat-atrium points to the heyday of the power lunch: the mid-1980s. The reception floor, with its two-story waterfall fountain, is clad in enough marble to have depleted an Italian quarry. Guest rooms, nearly all of which have been renovated in the last few years, are stylish, if a little generic, with dark-brown textiles accented with orange or royal-blue pillows. Standard rooms tend to be small, starting at a little over 70 square feet. The Mixx Bar and Lounge, located on the 36th floor, has superb views of the city and, on clear days, Mt. Fuji. On the same floor is the Michelin two-star French restaurant Pierre Gagnaire, and on the third floor The Steakhouse serves grass-fed New Zealand beef and lamb.
